From his college days he was very interested and fonds of the entertainment industry that is why while studying in college Balraj joined theatre groups and begins his training. Once his acting teacher whose name is Amit Sharma suggest him to give the audition for a comedy show titled Hasde Hasande Ravo which was released and aired in 2009, and MH 1 respectively.

In the audition, he got selected for Ravo and he ends this show by being a finalist. Then he appears in much Punjab-based television show named Lots of Ladies, Music online, Desi Talks, and Ikk Tera Bole.
Then, later on, he comes to see in a comedy-based television reality show named The Great Indian Laughter Challenge but in the very first episode, he got rejected. Then later in the year 2009, he comes to be seen in one more comedy show named Laughter Ke Phatke which used to air on Star One channel and he finished this show by winning this.
